“The book that got dad reading again!  My father was dreading is 85th birthday, and had given up reading because of the strain to his eyes. As part of his b-day mailing I wanted to zero in on a perfect read. Searches and reviews lead me to a large-print funny, thrilling title, The Varicose Vigilantes. He loved the fast-pace and short chapters. He was so enthusiastic, I picked up a copy for myself, and for the first time in our lives we enjoyed a private book-club across the miles as we kept pace with each other and compared highlights. I can’t wait to treat him to another of Lumbert’s series.”

“Bought this for my mother, who lives alone. She laughed all the way through it.  She said she could not put this book down. She really enjoyed it. It was perfect because it came in large print which made reading it very easy for her. She has passed this book onto other family members!”

“This is the perfect book for seniors! I am an avid senior reader. I will read just about anything, but my favorite is thriller fiction.  A friend recently told me about The Varicose Vigilantes. She said it was a great comedy thriller, where people like us actually get to be the heroes. This has to be the best book for seniors anywhere! It is funny. It is edgy. The book is extremely well-written. I loved the characters. I loved the action. I loved the message. The type was big enough for me to read. If you are looking for a book that will make you laugh, but also keep you on the edge of your seat, this is it! I also enjoyed Jay’s other book, The Alchemist Conspiracy. This guy is good. I sure hope he writes some more, particularly ones where I can see myself in action.”

“Do not pass this author by-he has all the right stuff for a wonderful read. It is so great to find a book and author who took the ‘Best Sellers List’ mold and smashed it. Finally, a book written for readers! This book has everything, it has been a long time since I read a line in a book and laughed out loud. All ages will enjoy this one, but I think us “Baby Boomers” can relate. Spot on!”
